(Story Telling)

The story:

 

Hank in his home”

 

    Today is Hanky time in his home. He is alone at home because his mom has to go to Bank to save her money. When home alone, Hank plays with his dog called Kuma. Kuma has a brown fur, black nose, blue eyes, and strong legs.  Kuma loves to scratch the couch and it leaves scratches. Because of that, Hanky thinks he needs to cover the couch with the couch covers. At the evening, Hanky’s mom is back home. His mom bring some junk foods and three bottles of soft drink for Hanky because her mom forget to cook. Hank loves it. They eat the junk foods together while Kuma eats his own food in dog feeder.

Kuma has a brown fur, black nose, blue eyes, and strong legs.

So students what are the characteristics of kuma?

 

 

T: Right, then, Kuma loves to scratch the couch and it leaves scratches.

 

Because of that, Hank thinks he needs to cover the couch with the couch covers

Students, what does hank think about the couch?

 

T: Good. At the evening, Hank’s mom is back home.

 

T: His mom bring some junk foods and three bottles of soft drink for Hank because her mom forget to cook. Hank loves it.

 

So these are junk foods and three bottles of soft drink. Students, how many soft drinks that hank’s mom bring?

 

T: They eat the junk foods together while Kuma eats his own food in dog feeder.

Practice 3

“Hot Seat” games

Teacher has a list of vocabulary words prepared which relate the final word blend /-nk/. Make sure she/he cannot she behind them. Start a timer (one minute) and write the first word on the board.

The team must say things related to that word in order to elicit that word from their team-mate sitting in the hot seat. Once the student guesses correctly, write the next word. Continue until time runs out. The team with the most correct guesses at the end is the winner.

 


Teacher brings two chairs to the front of the classroom. Split the class into two teams and the teams’ representative sit in the chair (the “Hot Seat”) facing the class.

 

Teacher: Students please make two groups since we want to play the “Hot Seat” games. Don’t forget to choose your friend to be the representative of your group to sit in the Hot Seat.

 

Students: Okay miss

(Choose their representative)

 

Teacher: Please, sit on the chair.

Ok students I will write a word on the board, then the team say things that relate to the word and the representative will guess the word. So the representative may not see the words on the board. Once the representative guesses correctly, I will write the next word. Continue until time runs out.

 

Student: How many times that you give miss?

 

Teacher: I will give you one minute for each of team and each of the truth answer will get 1 point. Do you get it?

 

Students: Yes miss

 

Teacher:  Ok, let’s start with team A. Be ready team

(Start a timer (one minute) and write the first word on the board)

Teacher: Yess finish. Team A got 3 points.

Practice 4

(Word Tower)

Teacher gives students a bunch of letters in form of carton/cardboard. Then students arrange the letter in the tower based on the words that teacher gives in word card.

 


 


 


(Teacher distributes all the word tower stuffs/media)

 

Teacher: Students, we are going to play again!

 

Students: HOORAY!!

 

Teacher: What do you think about the stuffs in your desk?

 

Students: We don’t know miss

 

Teacher: Okay, in your desk, you have many cardboard letters and a tower? So do you have an idea about that?

 

Students: miss, do we arrange the letter in the tower miss?

 

Teacher: Right, I will give you word cards then you stick the glue on the cardboard which are the letters in the word cards. Next you put it into the tower. Do you get it?

 

Students: Yes miss.

 

Teacher: Make sure you have glue in your desk. If you don’t have, you have to tell me.

 

One of students: Miss, I cannot find my glue.

 

Teacher: Wait. Ahh this is your glue.

 

The student: Thank you miss

 

Teacher: Ok, let’s start in 1 2 3… Start

 

(Students do crafting)

 

Teacher: Have you finished?

 

Students: Yes miss

 

Teacher: Good, just left your work in your desk and prepare for coming back to home
